Abhyanga (Full Body Oil Massage)

At Neerozhukkil Vaidyasala, Abhyanga is more than an oil massage it is a classical Ayurvedic therapy and a cornerstone of rejuvenation. Defined in the texts as the rhythmic application of warm, medicated herbal oils over the entire body, Abhyanga helps balance the Doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha), supports circulation, nourishes the tissues (Dhatus), calms the nervous system, and promotes deep rest. Each session uses oils selected for your Prakriti (constitution) and current Vikriti (imbalance). With regular practice, Abhyanga is associated with improved skin health and tone, a sense of grounding, more restful sleep, and overall well-being. It is also a central practice within Dinacharya (daily self-care) and complements detox and rejuvenation programs at Neerozhukkil Vaidyasala.

How It Works

01

Step 1: You will be taken back into the treatment room for a brief Prakriti-Vikriti assessment before the therapist selects the best medicated oil blend based on your state.

02

Step 2: The therapist will then prepare the herbs to warm the traditional herbal oil (Dhanwantharam Tailam or Ksheerabala Tailam) based on your physical needs.

03

Step 3: Once the oil blends are readied, a 45-minutes Abhyanga massage will be performed in a sequential way along meridians of energy.

04

Step 4: After the Abhyanga, a mild Swedana (steam) will be given to allow the herbal oil to absorb to its fullest.
