A comprehensive consultation will clarify your Dosha constitution, your current imbalances, toxin accumulations, and your strength (Bala), and it will inform your Panchakarma plan.
Preparation therapies, including Snehana (oleation) and Swedana (sudation), are administered to encourage toxin loosening and to move toxins from the nervous and lymph systems into the gut for elimination.
One or more Panchakarma procedures are prescribed, according to individual needs: Vamana, Virechana, Basti, Nasya and Raktamokshana.
After the detoxification, Rasayana Chikitsa and Restorative Diet (Samsarjana Krama) is a way of replenishing the strength, immunity, and vitality of the patient through nourishment and revitalization.

“Five actions” or Panchakarma serves to purify and rejuvenate in Ayurveda. There are five modalities – Vamana, Virechana, Basti, Nasya, and Raktamokshana – each aimed to remove specific impurities from a specific system of the body. Together these five modalities allow for the balance to be restored to the Tridoshas, thorough detoxification of the deeper tissues, and keeping you safe to discover the full restorative healing potential of your body.
Panchakarma differs from a short-term detox in that it works at the Dhatu (tissue) level and focuses on the root cause of Ama formation. Panchakarma is highly individualized, based on Prakriti, seasonal time, age, strength, and current imbalance, to ensure purification and rejuvenation. Not only does it eliminate toxins, but it also stimulates the Agni, replenishes Ojas, and builds immunity.
Panchakarma is available to almost everyone, however, the timing and intensity will vary. The best timing is when there is a seasonal change, or with chronic imbalances. A person who is weak, pregnant or acutely ill may need a gentler Shamana (pacifying) regimen prior to completing a full detox.
The length of time will vary depending on the individual. In general, a full cycle of Panchakarma will last between 7 and 21 days, with time included for Purvakarma (preparation) and Paschatkarma (aftercare). Shorter and or specific Panchakarma modules can also be tailored for certain problems such as sinusitis, arthritis, or metabolic imbalance.
Panchakarma presents a gentle process of bodily release on physical, mental, and emotional levels. While toxins are released from your body, you may have mild feelings of fatigue or emotional sensitivity. At the end of Panchakarma, most people feel a sense of lightness in their bodies, clarity of thoughts, improved digestion, deeper sleep, and renewed energy. The final procedure, the Rasayana phase, has an even greater effect of enhancing your vitality and longevity, making this therapy profoundly transformative.
Panchakarma is safe, especially as we are overseeing the treatments and are trained professionals in Ayurvedic treatment protocols. Reactions such as mild tiredness, tongue coating or fluctuations in appetite are not adverse effects, but rather indicators of internal cleansing that is taking place in your system.
For preventive wellness, it is traditionally advised to perform Panchakarma once or twice per year — especially during Ritu Sandhi (the transitional change between seasons). For chronic conditions, your Vaidya may recommend more than one or two Panchakarma experiences until balance is reestablished.
Yes! Panchakarma is an effective therapy for many chronic diseases including, but not limited to arthritis (amavata), metabolic syndrome, digestive disorders, skin diseases, hormonal disorders and stress-related disorders. It works by releasing deep rooted toxins and then resetting physiology into harmony.
All treatments are performed observing a high standard of hygiene, performed in a clinical setting, and utilizing an authentic Ayurvedic formulation. After each treatment the therapist looks after your care according to age, physical strength and dosha conditions to ensure you are relaxed and comfortable at all times.
